This workshop focuses on the application of the five basic principles in prescribing a training program and provides coaches with the skills required to design an effective yearly training program.

MENTOR PROGRAM FOR
NEW COACHES

Seaforth Netball Club has continued to expand in the junior ranks for the past few years and while this is good news for the future of the club and the girls who play, it means our coaching resources are severely stretched. Hence the introduction of a mentoring program.

What is a mentoring program?
A nurturing way of introducing prospective coaches to the rewards and enjoyment of coaching a netball team.

Who is the mentoring program aimed at?
The main target group (though by no means restricted to) is 13 to 15 year old club members who love their netball, like working with younger club members and are interested in giving something back to the club.

How does mentoring work?
The “trainee coach” would be assigned to an experienced coach of an existing team and participate in running the training sessions and contribute to the team's game plan for Saturday's games.

Know someone who may be interested?
If you know someone who might be interested in joining our mentoring program for coaches, or would like to know more, please contact Morag McKeand on 94002035.
